MEET MATT WAUGH

A Placentia resident of more than 20 years with deep roots in the community, Matt is a business executive with experience advising organizations on financial accountability, strategic planning, workforce development, and operational effectiveness. He helps organizations identify problems, design solutions, and measure success.

Matt is running for City Council to bring that disciplined approach to serving Placentia. His priorities are responsible fiscal stewardship, keeping our neighborhoods safe, maintaining roads and infrastructure, and ensuring City Hall remains focused on the people it serves. As California cities face growing budget pressures, careful management of taxpayer dollars will be essential to preserve public safety, protect essential services, and invest wisely in our community.

Matt's wife has taught economics at a local high school for nearly three decades. Together they raised two sons in Placentia, where both attended local elementary, middle, and high schools. These experiences give Matt a grounded understanding of the needs of families, students, and working residents.

Matt brings a collaborative, disciplined approach to City Council: listening first, making thoughtful decisions, and working to keep Placentia safe, financially sound, and a community where families and businesses can thrive.
