LEAD BY LISTENING
LISTEN TO UNDERSTAND, NOT TO RESPOND.
That's how we raised our boys, and it's also how I believe a councilman should approach serving his community.
There is no greater priority for me as a councilman than to represent the voice and interests of my constituents.
That starts with listening—not waiting for my turn to speak, not looking for an answer before I understand the question, and not assuming I already know what residents need.
A councilman has a responsibility to listen to the people he represents, understand the issues they care about, and make sure their voices are part of the decisions made at City Hall.
LISTEN
HEAR THE PEOPLE YOU REPRESENT.
Be accessible. Be present. Listen to residents' concerns, ideas, experiences, and priorities.
Residents know their neighborhoods and experience the City's decisions firsthand. Their voices should be an essential part of how their City is governed.
UNDERSTAND
TAKE THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND.
Listening isn't about waiting for your turn to respond.
It's about understanding what someone is telling you—and why.
Before making an important decision, understand the facts, the circumstances, the costs, the constraints, the alternatives, and the potential consequences.
Good leadership doesn't require having an immediate answer to every question. It requires having the discipline to understand the question before deciding how to answer it.
REPRESENT
BRING YOUR VOICE TO CITY HALL.
My job as a councilman isn't simply to advance my own ideas.
It is to represent the people who elected me.
That means bringing the concerns, interests, and perspectives of District 2 residents into the decisions made by the City Council—and making sure those voices are heard.
ACT
TURN RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP INTO RESULTS.
Listening and understanding only matter if they lead to action.
When it's time to decide, I will be prepared to make responsible choices, stand behind them, and work to deliver results for Placentia.
Leadership means listening carefully, understanding the issues, representing the people you serve, and then having the courage to act.
READY TO LEAD. HERE TO LISTEN.
I believe Placentia deserves leadership that is accessible, informed, accountable, and focused on results.
I'll listen to the people I represent.
I'll take the time to understand.
I'll represent their interests.
And I'll be ready to act.
